4 Tips to help You Stick to Your 2019 Goals!

Twenty Nineteen is here! If you’re anything like us you have your new goals set or you are hanging on tight to your 2018 goals. Whether you have new goals or sticking with your old goals, the next step is the tricky part, actually committing to it for a whole year.

We’ve done our fair share of setting goals and not accomplishing them, but not this year… This year we have come up with 4 easy tips to help knock your 2019 goals out the park.

Tip #1: Reflect on 2018

That’s right! In order for us to prepare ourselves for the future, we must reflect (not to be confused with dwell 😌) on the past.

Did you reach your goals in 2018? What hindered you in 2018? Did you surround yourself with people that can help you achieve your goals? What can you do differently?

Whether you are gearing up the new year with new goals or carrying forward your 2018 goals, these are questions you should be asking yourself. Try to identify what helped or prevented you from accomplishing last years goals.

Grab a cup of tea ( we prefer Chai Tea..) and get to reflecting!

Tip #3: Plan Your Day

A wise man (Jim Rohn) once said, “don’t start your day until your day is finished”. Meaning, until you have your day scheduled out and planned, your day hasn’t started. We implemented this concept towards the end of 2018. It’s so good we had to bring it forward to 2019.

Once you have mastered planning your day, master planning out your week, then your month, and last but not least your year. *Whew, if you master planning out your year, you have a special place in our heart!* And here is the catch, when planning your day do something each day that will bring you closer to your goals.

Tip #2: Write Your Goals Down

Okay, all of our tip are important BUT this right here…..EXTREMELY IMPORTANT!

Write your goals down, the old fashion way. We’re talking pen on paper, in a journal, or a posted board. Where ever you decide to write it, make sure it’s in a place where you can see it everyday.

If you head to our powder room, there you will find all of our goals (heck, we have our 3 year plan all drawn out) Why the powder room? To ensure that we see our goals everyday! This tip pairs quite nicely with our next tip.

Tip #4: Tell A Friend!

Tell someone to hold you accountable! Of course, you want to be mindful with who you tell (make sure they’ll speak life over your goals). You’ll find that sharing your goals with someone will push you to work a little harder towards them. Whenever you see this person they’ll be a “friendly” reminder of what you need to achieve and should be working towards.
